Community Counts: drawing from our history

This project involved working with the Villages of New Denver and Silverton’s Covid Advisory Committee to create a series of printed and digital materials to support their message of the importance of remaining vigilant during the pandemic.

We chose to make the communications specific to the Slocan Valley, using highly-recognizable images to local people and to use humour to lighten the message by adding masks to the photos.

Deliverables include a poster, a postcard, a black and white flyer for insertion in the local paper, and images to accompany social posts on Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin.

The photos are taken with permission from the incredible archives of the Silvery Slocan Historical Society, the Slocan Valley Historical Society, and the Vancouver Archives.
